Understand the Motifs

Creation / Extension: The outpouring of being itself through giving, in which to create is to extend what you are and thereby increase without loss, while remaining joined to your Source.

Fear: The emotion of separation: the anticipation of punishment that guilt makes inevitable. Fear is what keeps the ego’s thought system from being looked at, and it is sustained only by the belief that attack and guilt are real.

T-1.VI The Illusion of Needs acim.org/acim/en

Needs and lack are exposed as effects of separation and fear, and the mind is invited to choose again—trusting Love’s oneness and the Holy Spirit’s reinterpretation.

As you read, notice how the themes Creation / Extension and Fear appear in this section.

Reflect

What feeling of lack am I treating as proof about reality instead of as evidence of a mistaken premise?

What fearful belief have I stopped questioning because it feels so familiar?

Practice

Bring one needful thought to mind. Without arguing with it, say: “Lack is not part of creation.” Let the thought soften, and notice the space that opens when you stop building identity around absence.

Name one fear in a few words. Then ask: Does this come from love, or from what I made up to replace love? Stay with the question, not the answer.
