Skim the Surface
T-11.VIII The Problem and the Answer acim.org/acim/en
The problem is a fear-made, private interpretation; the Answer is the Holy Spirit’s shared reinterpretation, accepted through willingness, prayer, forgiveness, and joining until perception yields to quiet knowing.
Recognize What's Happening Beneath
Under the surface, the ego’s strategy is consistent: keep meaning self-made, keep help at a distance, and protect a private world where fear and scarcity seem “reasonable.” Even asking can feel dangerous if you assume that receiving must take from someone else.
The correction is equally consistent: let the Holy Spirit be the Interpreter, and let joining replace self-reliance. As condemnation is dropped and wholeness is accepted (no sick or guilty pocket kept aside), peace is recognized as already present in the mind—available now as a different way of seeing.
Reflect
What would I stop clinging to if I trusted that the end is simply the end of misperception, not the loss of anything real?
Practice
For one minute, repeat slowly: “Only reality is true.” Bring one grievance to mind and ask the Holy Spirit to correct your seeing. Then pause and imagine that fully corrected perception would have no further function.
