Understand the Ego Trap

Defense as Refuge

“Safety means staying alert, keeping distance, and deciding quickly who can hurt me. Seeing sinlessness sounds nice, but it doesn't build a shelter.”

Watch Your Mind

Wrong-mindedness: The wrong mind treats guilt as the basis of safety planning and keeps watch for threats in people. It makes control feel protective because sin has been made real.

Right-mindedness: Right-minded vigilance notices when fear has made a brother into danger and chooses sinlessness instead. Safety is entered by removing guilt from identity, not by fortifying against it.

Carry This With You

Safety deepens when you stop building it on guilt.
