T-14.VIII The Holy Meeting Place acim.org/acim/en

The Holy Meeting Place becomes the mind’s altar where the Holy Spirit replaces guilt with shared purpose, and joining learns to recognize the oneness that never changed.

Recognize What's Happening Beneath

Behind the imagery of corridors, doors, and meeting lies a single psychological move: the wish to keep a private kingdom where judgment stays secretly true. Defenses, guilt, and littleness are shown as variations of the same attempt to protect a separate identity and to make perception deliver certainty. The cost is predictable—strain, distance, and a communication that divides meaning instead of sharing it.

The correction is gentler than the ego expects. Innocence and guiltlessness are not manufactured; they are uncovered as denial is brought to the Holy Spirit. Because what is real is changeless, the practice is not to force a better picture, but to relinquish the interpreter that makes the picture frightening. At the altar of the mind, willingness replaces bargaining: you let what is unworthy disappear, and you accept the quiet experience of joining that was always there.

Reflect

Where do I still seek a smaller promise from the ego instead of entering the Holy Spirit’s meeting place within?

Practice

Pause with your hand on your heart or simply become still. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you the meeting place where nothing interferes. Let one grievance or ambition be replaced by the wish to meet there with your brother.
