T-25.IV The Light You Bring acim.org/acim/en

Light is brought by choosing peace in the mind, recognizing innocence and guiltlessness, and letting joining replace attack so the happy dream points back to the Kingdom.

Recognize What's Happening Beneath

Under the surface, the struggle is not between people but between interpretations: the ego wants secrecy so guilt can stay useful, and then uses blame to keep joining at bay. The Holy Spirit’s correction is the opposite move—bring the guilt thought to light without self-attack, and the picture you feared becomes an illusion you can release.

That is why the section keeps returning to extension: you do not earn peace by perfecting behavior; you keep it by letting it go out. When joining is valued over private agendas, the mind feels its invulnerability and begins to recognize that Heaven’s peace can include the world without being changed by it.

Reflect

What would shift in my interactions if I remembered my purpose is to bring light, not to defend against darkness?

Practice

Before you meet someone today, pause and say, “I bring light and gentleness.” Imagine a warm sun in your mind for 10 seconds, then enter the interaction watching for one moment where darkness feels less serious.
