T-11.III From Darkness to Light acim.org/acim/en

Darkness is exposed as interpretation, and the mind is invited to choose again—accepting the Holy Spirit’s comfort and extending peace as God’s one Will.

Recognize What's Happening Beneath

Under the imagery of darkness and light sits a specific undoing: the ego equates freedom with privacy—my will, my grievances, my separate path—and then calls the resulting strain “life.” The section keeps exposing that bargain: attack and fear do not protect you; they teach the mind to see itself as hurt and alone, and suffering becomes the evidence that separation is real.

The correction runs in the opposite direction. Let the Holy Spirit reinterpret the same situation in the light of shared Identity. Peace is not guarded by withdrawal but strengthened by giving; the mind returns to its home by letting go of substitutes and accepting the Will that includes everyone.

Reflect

Where do I treat my weariness as inevitable, and what shifts if I see it as the effect of choosing conflict over peace?

Practice

For one minute, repeat quietly: “God’s Will is my peace.” Then extend it: picture one person and offer, “May you share this peace with me.” Let the sense of joining be your turning toward light.
