Understand the Motif
Miracle: A correction of perception that expresses love and works at the level of mind, where the mistake was made. It demonstrates that what can change was never real, and what is real cannot change.
Miracle: The miracle is an effect of choosing correctly, and because love has no degrees, miracles have no order of difficulty: the correction is the same in every case. Nor can a miracle be received alone, since the healing occurs in the joined mind rather than in separate bodies, and the one who offers it is released with the one who receives it. Because the correction is made at the level of cause, the miracle collapses time: it substitutes for learning that would otherwise take years, so that the long paths through time the ego prefers become unnecessary. Miracles undo what was never truly made by showing that misperception has no real foundation. They remove the obstruction so truth can be what it always was.

T-10.IV The End of Sickness · Paragraph 7 acim.org/acim/en
Miracle lays aside false gods, inviting your brother into faith.
As you read, notice how the theme Miracle appears in this paragraph.
Consider the Context
The miracle is defined in a starkly practical way: laying aside false gods and inviting a brother to do the same. It is an act of faith in the brother’s ability to answer the Holy Spirit, strengthened through joining. It is not renunciation for its own sake; it is the willingness to stop letting substitutes define either you or your brother.
In the context of sickness, the miracle worker refuses to share the belief in sickness. The correction is not a negotiation between sickness and perfection; it is a shift in what the mind endorses as real. Miracles work by changing allegiance—from false gods and fearful beliefs to the Holy Spirit’s truth.
Reflect
What false god do you most often consult for authority—control, bodily status, being right—and how does that allegiance show up when you face illness or fear?
Practice
When fear about the body arises, pause and say: “I will not share this belief.” Invite the Holy Spirit in: “Help us lay aside false gods together.” Hold a quiet faith in your brother’s right mind, and let that joined faith be the miracle.
