Understand the Motif
Holy Instant: The holy instant is a moment of experience freed from the past and future where judgment is suspended, guilt vanishes, and God is remembered. It is the closest you can come to eternity while still in time, and it is always available now.
Holy Instant: The holy instant is a shift in perception where time’s hold on the mind is released and awareness returns to what has always been true. It is the moment the miracle is chosen—not produced by effort, but accepted when you stop interfering. In it, the past is recognized as gone and the future’s imagined threats dissolve. Because judgment depends entirely on past reference, the holy instant is where judgment becomes impossible and communication is restored. It is not measured by how long it lasts or how intense it feels, but only by its content. In this instant, you experience yourself as God created you, you join with Him directly, and all barriers of separation vanish.
Notice the Shift
When it comes to sharing, right-mindedness invites you to shift:
Consider the Context
The Holy Instant is presented as a pivot: a timeless moment you offer wholly to the Holy Spirit, opening directly onto eternity. Doubt ends, not by collecting more evidence, but by letting past learning stop governing the instant.
This stop also makes the practice feel attainable. You can set apart a single second and give it a single purpose. The point is not duration. The point is totality—no competing ego goal running alongside your request for peace. Any hint of bargaining—keeping one grievance or one plan—reintroduces time as doubt. The practice is simply to notice the bargain and choose again, trusting that the Holy Spirit supplies the light you cannot make.
Reflect
Where do you notice a split purpose in your mind—asking for peace while holding a private agenda—and how does that show up as doubt?
Practice
Take 60 seconds and quietly dedicate the next minute to the Holy Spirit with no other goal. When a plan or grievance appears, let it pass and return to the single intention: Only this moment, given for peace.
