Understand the Motif
Love: Love is the one real emotion: all-encompassing, changeless, and the fundamental power of creation that extends itself infinitely. It cannot be learned, only recognized and allowed.
Love: Love is the actual substance of reality, the creative force that gives being to everything. It is whole and indivisible, admitting no part, no exceptions, and no absence; where it appears to be missing, fear has simply obscured it from perception. Love has no opposite because only what is partial and limited can be opposed, and love is without limit. What the ego calls love—clinging, sacrifice, jealousy—can be recognized by the fact that it turns into hate when its terms are not met; what is real does not change. It is freedom, strength, and the only real basis for relationships and communication, for it is the joining of minds beyond form.

T-18.V The Happy Dream · Paragraphs 4-5, 7 acim.org/acim/en
Happiness is a loving dream that teaches Love is not fear.
As you read, notice how the theme Love appears in these paragraphs.
Consider the Context
Happiness is redefined as a loving dream. Happy dreams are said to be loving by nature, which means love is treated as the content of happiness rather than a risky emotion that competes with fear. The holy relationship is given a clear purpose: to correct the belief that love is frightening.
This stop also brings love into sharing. The desire for the holy instant is not private; it is for self and brother together. When you want happiness for both, love spreads joy instead of trying to protect a special bond. The dream becomes happy precisely because it is no longer used to prove separation, but to practice joining.
Reflect
Where do I treat love as risky and therefore deny myself the happiness that comes from joining?
Practice
Choose one person and silently wish for the holy instant for both of you. Let that shared desire replace private striving. Notice how joy feels when you stop trying to keep it for yourself.
