Understand the Motif
Sinlessness: The true and unchangeable state of the Son of God: a permanent fact of creation that can never be altered by what the Son believes about himself. Because it is already true, nothing needs to be paid for or redeemed by suffering, and the chain from sin to guilt to punishment has nothing to rest on.
Sinlessness: Sinlessness is the condition of absolute wholeness, free of sin, pain, and suffering—the only state God’s Son was ever created to be and the only state he is now. While guilt persists in consciousness, this truth remains obscured; yet nothing the Son has done or could do would change what God knows him to be. The belief in sin is baseless because sin would require that reality itself be violable, that God could be made incomplete, and that the eternal could become temporal. Sinlessness is a state to be recognized, the natural consequence of abandoning the desire to attack.
Notice the Shift
When it comes to attack, right-mindedness invites you to shift:
Consider the Context
The motif reaches a peak definition: sinlessness is the disappearance of the desire to attack. With attack gone, guilt loses its purpose and the Son of God is no longer seen as different from what he is. The teaching integrates mind-choice practice with metaphysical certainty: your experience of Heaven or hell turns on whether you perceive your brother’s innocence or make him an enemy. In that sense, the brother’s function is decisive—what you assign to him becomes your path. Seeing him as Christ brings joy and inner sight because it aligns perception with what God created. Sinlessness here is more than the absence of wrongdoing; it is the end of the attack impulse that kept wrongdoing meaningful.
Reflect
What attack desire am I still valuing, and what opens when I let it go and see Christ instead?
Practice
In a triggering moment, name the impulse: “I want to attack.” Then choose again: “I do not want this.” Ask the Holy Spirit: “Show me my brother as savior.” Rest for ten seconds and let the need to punish dissolve.
