The Peace of Heaven

Heaven’s Peace is restored by choosing the Holy Spirit’s reinterpretation, letting guilt and dream-conflict be undone, and accepting God’s Will as the shared Kingdom’s only value.

From each motif's Teachings, the teachings and reversals that draw on this section, in the order of the motifs' salience here. Many draw on other sections too, listed beneath them.

Teachings Drawn from This Section

  1. Kingdom. Heaven is perfectly unambiguous unity—value not negotiated, no subtle ranking, no partial loving. Peace is not a mood that rises and falls but the condition of a mind with one clear Teacher. The Course uses this peace as a standard that exposes the world’s logic of contrast—defining yourself by what you are not—as dream logic.

  2. Will of God. God’s Will is immutable—not as rigidity but as reliability. Love doesn’t have moods, doesn’t bargain or punish. Against that steadiness the ego’s volatility becomes obvious. The ego wants a god who can be managed through appeasement; the Course refuses that entire framework.

  3. Communication. The line of communication God placed within you cannot be wholly shut. You can interfere; you cannot erase it. Yet guiltless and guilty self-concepts are mutually unintelligible—if you insist on guilt as identity, you will interpret communication from the Holy Spirit as threat.
