From each motif's Teachings, the teachings and reversals that draw on this section, in the order of the motifs' salience here. Many draw on other sections too, listed beneath them.

Teachings Drawn from This Section

  1. Holy Relationship. The holy relationship is a joining rooted in wholeness rather than lack. You begin not by seeking completion from another but by looking within and seeing the lack is not there. Communication is reborn as the undoing of separate minds. Secrecy begins to feel unnecessary. The relationship becomes a shelter where the Self can be reborn safely.

  2. Joining. The holy relationship extends beyond the pair—like a lamp in a room, the light illuminates whatever is there. At a branching in the road, you choose what you respond to in your brother: surface behavior inviting condemnation, or the underlying call for love. Joining becomes the act of answering the call for life.

  3. Specialness. The ego privatizes truth—“truth is different for everyone”—to protect a sealed hierarchy of illusions and make joining impossible. Particular traits become criteria for acceptance and rejection, and difference becomes currency. This is specialness wearing philosophy.
