Teachings Drawn from This Section

  1. Willingness. Near the end, willingness becomes ordinary: a daily decision method, rules for decision you can use on a Tuesday afternoon. When resistance is strong, return to the day you want to have, admit you do not like what you feel, allow the small hope you have been wrong, and ask for another way. The ego keeps trying to convert willingness into performance; the Course keeps refusing: a little willingness is enough, and you are not asked to purify it.

  2. Happy Dream. Forgiving dreams become more readily available through practice. Training dismantles the ego’s drama of turning spiritual peace into a rare exception. The operational rule: let forgiveness take fear’s place. Wherever fear shows up, that is the exact place the substitution is needed. The happy dream is the predictable outcome of that exchange.
