The Holy Spirit’s Plan of Forgiveness
A stark choice is made: follow the ego’s forgiveness that proves sin, or the Holy Spirit’s forgiveness that overlooks error and heals perception through joining.

Teachings Drawn from This Section
-
Forgiveness. The Holy Spirit’s plan of forgiveness is overlooking in the sense of not investing error with reality in the first place. The ego’s plan scrutinizes the offense until it feels solid, makes it real, builds its case, and then tries to “overlook” what it just proved—making forgiveness impossible. Real forgiveness refuses to let a false perception block self-knowledge.
-
Forgiveness. Forgiveness is not pardon, approval, or being nice. It is not a social bargain that says “what you did was real but I’ll let it slide.” That is still attack in a softer voice. Forgiveness is an inner change of Teacher and meaning—the withdrawal of judgment and projection. You can still take sensible action in form; the healing is in content.
-
Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit’s curriculum retranslates fear and attack as appeals for love—surgical, not sentimental, removing the justification for counterattack without pretending the mind’s pain isn’t felt. You cannot overlook error alone; His plan of forgiveness cancels error’s effects by refusing it reality. He is not here to endorse the ego’s plan for specialness but to undo the purpose behind it.
-
Sin / Error. True correction is distinguished from the ego’s version. The ego corrects by naming wrongness and making the error real; the Holy Spirit’s plan overlooks from the beginning—not pretending form never occurred, but refusing to treat it as proof of a guilty self. Forgiveness succeeds because it declines to make the crime story true first.
