Teachings Drawn from This Section

  1. Memory of God. You cannot remember God alone. Your brother’s forgetfulness is yours: keeping him in sin keeps the thought system of separation intact. Attack and remembrance come from incompatible frames. The memory returns by the same route forgiveness returns—undoing projection, letting the Holy Spirit reinterpret, and recognizing that joining is of mind.

  2. Vision. Vision is tied to honesty: obstacles to real vision—sickness, hatred, the temptation to blame—must be seen before they can be laid aside. You don’t have to be your own interpreter. When you stop treating perception as a trial, you begin a form of forgiveness before the word feels personal.

  3. Sickness. Sickness is also a call for love—the effect of love denied and therefore a request for what would heal. Yet it can equally be recruited as a weapon of guilt, the ego’s strongest evidence that sin is real and punishment justified. The body becomes an accuser; removing that accusatory purpose is the Holy Spirit’s correction.
