Chapter 20 — The Vision of Holiness

Sin is exposed as a mind-made adjustment defended by judgment and projection, and undone in the holy relationship by choosing the Holy Spirit’s vision of shared sinlessness.

Sin / Error Sin is a defended perceptual adjustment; see your brother sinless to drop fear.

Ego Adjustment is the ego’s interference in every relationship. Holy Relationship Refuse the ego’s mediation; meet your brother with simple joy. Judgment Don’t let the world’s appraisal answer the question “What am I?” Perception—Knowledge Knowledge needs no adjustment; adjusting is how doubt enters perception. Joining Ego keeps you apart by adjusting; Heaven joins without limit.

Projection Self-judgment painted outward becomes the world you then endure. Fear A fearful world comes from adjustment; seeing sinlessness ends the threat. Separation The ego adjusts relationships to prevent union and keep you a prisoner. Cause and Effect You adjust to what you made; choose a saner guide. Changelessness Truth needs no adjustment; your brother’s holiness stays untouched. Sinlessness See the brother as God’s gift; fear dissolves in holiness. Forgiveness The world is self-judgment; forgiveness corrects the verdict by seeing innocence.

Innocence A beautiful world follows from seeing innocence within. Vision Happy eyes look directly and remember God within His Son. Holy Spirit Let perception ask the Holy Spirit, not the ego, for meaning. Oneness Holy perception sees a world no longer outside itself. Love Perfect Love sees no sin and therefore looks on all as itself. Illusions Judgment paints a merciless world that mirrors a self-image. Means—End Don’t let the ego adjust your method for a holy relationship. Death / Suffering In the fearful world we adjusted to, everyone waits for death. Invulnerability Holiness stays untouched; your brother’s innocence witnesses immortality. Sonship Stop asking what is wrong; ask how to see the holy Son.

Echo

Kingdom Paradise is union without fear; the sinless brother leads you to the Father. Attack A murderous self-image sees danger everywhere and calls it the world. Defenses Adjustment needs defenses because distortion must be propped up. Faith Share justified confidence in joining; let certainty replace fear’s distance. Peace Join with the holy Companion; enter Paradise and come to know God’s peace. Crucifixion and Resurrection A brother may seem crucified, yet holiness remains untouched.
