Teachings Drawn from This Section
-
Forgiveness. Forgiveness becomes the means for replacing nightmares with forgiving dreams. You withdraw blame by recognizing the dream is self-made. You release the dreamer from the dream you made him wear. When forgiveness is accepted, time becomes unnecessary because the purpose that kept the changing world in place is removed.
-
Time. Time persists only as long as the mind uses it to avoid forgiveness. The end of time is not apocalypse but the gentle arrival of timelessness in a forgiven mind—the disappearance of the need for a learning device because learning has reached its purpose. Each ordinary day can be devoted to seeing; time is wasted only when used to reinforce separation.
-
Death / Suffering. The resolve to die is challenged directly: life cannot have death as its function because the Creator’s function is extension, not ending. Forgiveness dissolves the birth-to-death storyline by withdrawing time’s authority. Death becomes functionless when guilt no longer has anything to prove.
-
Crucifixion and Resurrection. Near the end, crucifixion is framed as the mistaken purpose given to the world: to prove the Son can be bound and killed. Forgiveness undoes that purpose by undoing the death idea. Resurrection is the dawning recognition that there is no real death to reverse.
