From each motif's Teachings, the teachings and reversals that draw on this section, in the order of the motifs' salience here. Many draw on other sections too, listed beneath them.

Teachings Drawn from This Section

  1. Sonship. The Sonship’s undivided will is creative in the likeness of God; solitary will is treated as a primary symptom of the separation. The correction is concrete: gather your brothers, offer every gain in strength to the whole, and recognize that the journey back is the undoing of the impulse to go alone.

  2. Changelessness. Joy is treated as eternal and therefore incapable of turning into sorrow. Happiness dependent on outcomes will always have exceptions, and exceptions are the tell. Real joy has no reservations, needs no protection, and does not need to be earned again tomorrow.

  3. Revelation. Truth cannot be adequately described or explained; it can only be experienced. Teachers can prepare the conditions—pointing, correcting, helping you notice what you defend—but they cannot produce revelation for you. This undercuts the sophisticated avoidance of replacing experience with explanation: you can understand the metaphysics and still keep your attack thoughts. The measure of learning remains peace, shown most plainly in how you treat your brother.
