Chapter 6

The Lessons of Love

Anger is traced to attack and projection, and the student is turned back to the mind as cause. The crucifixion is reinterpreted as a lesson in choosing the Holy Spirit’s meaning, where attack and punishment are recognized as projections and forgiveness restores invulnerability. Specialness is exposed as the ego’s defense of separation, and the alternative is offered: harmlessness, where relinquishing attack makes safety and peace the natural effect. The Holy Spirit reframes teaching as giving, and by watching for the ego’s exceptions and choosing again, peace becomes the lesson offered and received.

Anger is traced to attack and projection, and attention returns to mind as cause, where choosing again uncovers invulnerability and love.

Crucifixion is reinterpreted as a lesson in choosing the Holy Spirit’s meaning: attack and punishment are projections, and forgiveness restores invulnerability, love, and shared innocence.

Projection and specialness are exposed as the ego’s defense of separation, and the Holy Spirit offers an alternative: forgiveness that restores joining, peace, and the memory of God.

▲ Milestones: Defenses, Projection, Separation

Relinquishing attack is the mind’s uncompromising choice to teach only Love with the Holy Spirit, so safety and peace are recognized as the natural effect of harmlessness.

The ego’s questions and defenses keep separation real, while the Holy Spirit’s Answer restores certainty by returning cause to the mind and reuniting perception with Love’s changeless reality.

▲ Milestone: Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit reframes teaching as giving: by watching for the ego’s exceptions and choosing again, peace becomes the lesson you both offer and receive.
