The End of Doubt

Doubt ends when a single instant is given wholly to the Holy Spirit, releasing time and relationships from the ego and letting peace witness to what is changeless.

Teachings Drawn from This Section

  1. Holy Instant. The Holy Instant must be shared. You cannot accept it for yourself and keep it from your brother, because its purpose is to undo the belief that your peace can be separate from his. It is offered on the scale of one second—one tiny interval given wholly to the Holy Spirit, not partly, not with a grievance protected in the corner.

  2. Kingdom. Heaven is available now—in the instant—not a distant state you eventually arrive at. Time is shown with two uses: one reinforces separation through past as proof and future as bargain; the other becomes a classroom for choosing again. You have never truly left the Kingdom; the only distance is your desire to keep two kingdoms in mind at once.

  3. Separation. Time becomes a primary accomplice. The past is the story that justifies the gap; if you keep the relationship trapped in old meanings, you keep the present from undoing them. The holy instant is introduced as a refusal to chain yourself and your brother to time—a single second offered to a different Teacher becomes a wedge in the wall. Special relationships are exposed as the ego’s attempt to fit love into separation while keeping the premise intact: love converted into fear through subtle bargains.

  4. Memory of God. The holy instant becomes central: a tiny instant given to the Holy Spirit is enough to remember eternity now. Memory of God is not limited by time. You don’t have to solve your whole life or fix the past—the holy instant is the mind refusing to use time as a defense.
