Chapter 27

The Healing of the Dream

The ego’s crucifixion picture uses suffering to prove guilt and justify attack, and the Holy Spirit reinterprets it to witness innocence and withdraw sacrifice. Fear of healing dissolves as forgiveness becomes shared witness, and symbols become learning aids when reinterpreted through joining. Quietness, not conflict, receives the answer, and healing is a miracle received in a Holy Instant of love without attack. Projection hides the dreamer until cause and effect is restored: choose the Holy Spirit, let guilt dissolve, and the nightmare becomes a forgiving dream that leads toward waking.
